fhcRural Metro Fire Department has been providing fire and emergency medical services to Fountain Hills residents since 1972.

Rural Metro Fire operates under a master contract with the Town of Fountain Hills. This means fire protection and emergency medical services are paid for through taxes and residents are not required to establish fire service on an individual basis with Rural Metro Fire.

In Fountain Hills, Rural Metro has two primary responding fire stations, bringing the total in Maricopa County to nine. There are eight firefighters on duty at all times, at least two are paramedics.

Rural Metro Fire crews in the Fountain Hills area are led by Fire Chief Dave Ott.
